Abstract
Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are Phase II drug-metabolizing enzymes that catalyze the conjugation of electrophilic compounds to glutathione. This reaction generally detoxifies reactive metabolites of xenobiotics, such as drugs and environmental chemicals, and therefore, GSTs are considered toxicologically important enzymes.
