Abstract
The SLC34 family of Na(+)-dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporters comprises two electrogenic isoforms (NaPi-IIa, NaPi-IIb) and an electroneutral isoform (NaPi-IIc). Both fulfill essential physiological roles in mammalian phosphate homeostasis.
