Intense FDG Activity in Peritoneal Tuberculosis Mimics Peritoneal Carcinomatosis
Abstract
FDG PET imaging, an established modality for evaluation of several malignancies, also shows increased uptake in inflammatory conditions. We present a case of a 29-year-old woman with abdominal pain without constitutional symptoms. Conventional imaging studies indicated peritoneal neoplasm with omental involvement and PET/CT to assess for malignant disease in the abdomen–pelvis showing intense FDG accumulation in the areas of those abnormalities....
