Abstract
The chemokine CXCL 16 and its receptor CXCR 6 have been linked to the pathogenesis of acute and chronic cardiovascular disease. However, data on the clinical significance of CXCL 16 in patients undergoing cardiac surgery with acute myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) are still lacking.
