Abstract
To determine whether Staphylococcus aureus Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL) is expressed during human infection, anti-PVL antibody titres were compared in patients with PVL-positive and PVL-negative staphylococcal infections, and in patients with no evidence of S. aureus infection.
