Abstract
Resume L’impact de la survenue d’un cancer est variable selon le contexte socioculturel, specifique achaque contexte et a chaque region. Afin de determiner le profil psychosocial des patients marocains atteints de cancer, quatre etudes ont ete menees a l’Institut national d’oncologie (INO) de Rabat. Ces etudes etaient prospectives, incluaient entre 125 et 1 600 patients et etaient basees sur des questionnaires etablis par un panel de specialistes : oncologue medical, psychologue et sociologue. Ces etudes s’interessaient aux caracteristiques psychosociales des patients atteints de cancers marocains de maniere generale, a l’impact de la survenue du cancer sur la pratique religieuse ainsi qu’a l’impact du cancer et de ses traitements sur la sexualite des patients atteints. A travers ces etudes, des caracteristiques specifiques au contexte socioculturel marocain ont ete relevees et vont etre discutees dans cet article.

This longitudinal study addressed the role of spirituality in women’s response to breast cancer.
