Abstract
The US Environmental Protection Agency's Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) attempts to minimize exposure to waterborne lead and copper by sampling water at the consumer's tap. The LCR assumes that the major long‐term sources of both elements are lead solder, copper plumbing, lead plumbing, and lead service lines and that brass plays only a transient role.
