HEMODYNAMIC EFFECTS OF TOLAZOLINE
Abstract
. Right and left heart catheterization has been carried out before and after injection of tolazoline in 5 normal subjects and in 32 patients with mean pulmonary arterial pressure of 20 mmHg or more. A solution of tolazoline, 1 mg/kg b.wt., was injected during one minute in the pulmonary artery. In the patients an increase in oxygen consumption and a reduction in the arteriovenous oxygen difference was observed. Both changes were significant....
