Background & AimsIn gastrointestinal muscles, v-kit Hardy-Zuckerman 4 feline sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KIT) is predominantly expressed by interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) and platelet-derived growth factor receptor-α (PDGFRA) polypeptide is expressed by so-called fibroblast-like cells.
