A new study of the quasi-free contribution to the $^3\hbox {He}+\,^9\hbox {Be}\rightarrow 3\alpha reaction (Q value = 19.004 MeV) at low {E}_{^3{{\mathrm{He}}}} energy is presented. The reaction was studied in a kinematically complete experiment at beam energy of 4 MeV. Isobaric analogues of three states in 10Be forming a rotational band with high moment of inertia are expected in 10B and 10C. This article reports a measurement of excitation spectrum in 10B obtained through 11B(3He,α)10B reaction. A T = 1 state is found on 11.3 MeV excitation energy. It is a possible candidate for the 4+ state of the analogue rotation band.

Abstract A considerable reduction of background and an improvement of spectra of low-energy γ -rays, measured with a planar high-purity Ge detector, has been achieved using a small source and a careful design of collimators and shielding. The aim of the design was to reduce strongly the detection of scattered radiation.
