In this work we report experimental evidence for the weak high-temperature ferromagnetism in Bi1-xRxFeO3 (R = Dy, Y) compounds by careful characterizations, excluding the possible side-effects from other iron-based impurities. Remarkable saturated magnetic moment was observed in the Y-substituted samples, Bi1-xYxFeO3, which is larger than the moment obtained in Bi1-xDyxFeO3, the Dy-substituted samples with antiferromagnetic background. Abstract Multiferroic Bi 1-x Ho x FeO 3 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1) ceramics have been prepared by rapid liquid phase sintering method. The effect of Ho 3+ doping on the crystal structure, dielectric, ferroelectric properties, T N and T M of BiFeO 3 ceramics is studied. The result shows that all the peaks for Bi 1-x Ho x FeO 3 samples can be indexed according to the crystal structure of pure BiFeO 3 by XRD and the grain size from 1 to 5 μm is observed for BiFeO 3 samples with Ho 3+ doped. Polycrystalline BiFe1?xCrxO3 ceramics with x = 0?1 have been produced via a mixed oxide route.
