Eighteen cassane diterpenoids, including five new lactam-type (4-8), 12 new lactone-type (1-3 and 9-17), and one known compound (18), were isolated from Caesalpinia sinensis. The first investigation of chemical composition in seed kernels of Caesalpinia cucullata Roxb. resulted in the separation of four new cassane diterpenes, including three furanoditerpenes (1, 2 and 4) and one tricyclic type (3).
