Abstract We present here a porous poly (L-lactide)/chitosan (PLLA/CS) composite scaffold with micro/nano-fiber hierarchical structure that was innovatively fabricated by combining 3D printing and thermally induced phase separation technology. Quercetin (Qu), a bioflavonoid, has been reported to positively affect bone metabolism. For the first time, Qu with different concentrations was utilized to functionalize 3D-printed poly(l-lactide) (PLLA) scaffold with the aid of a polydopamine (PDA) layer through a convenient and effective way in this study.
