When biochemical recurrence (BCR) of prostate cancer is suspected, early and accurate localization of metastases facilitates treatment when tumors are small and most amenable to localized therapy, and may guide clinicians in making management plans regarding salvage therapy. Here, we present results of a preplanned analysis of the FALCON trial (NCT02578940), which assessed the impact of PET/CT imaging with 18F-fluciclovine on clinical management choices for men with BCR of prostate cancer.

Aim The study aimed to investigate whether textural features of rectal cancer on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can predict long term survival in patients treated with long-course chemoradiotherapy. Method Textural analysis (TA) using a filtration-histogram technique of T2-weighted pre- and six-week post chemoradiotherapy MRI was undertaken using TexRAD, a proprietary software algorithm. Regions of interest enclosing the largest cross-sectional area of the tumour were manually delineated on th...

Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the ability of computed tomography texture analysis (CTTA) to provide additional prognostic information in patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL) and high-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL).

Prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography (PSMA PET) is a relatively new method of imaging prostate cancer that increases diagnostic accuracy in detecting and guiding management in various stages of the disease pathway. Gallium-68-labelled PSMA PET has increased the sensitivity of detection of disease recurrence at low PSA levels, thus allowing an optimal window for salvage treatment. Apart from its use in disease recurrence, PSMA PET has the potential for increasing sensit...

PET has a very high sensitivity for detection of nodal disease which is FDG avid in 97–100% of cases, and when used as PET/CT, it also has a high specificity. There is a large volume of data indicating staging accuracy with PET/CT is greater than CECT (contrast-enhanced CT). PET/CT can often upstage and rarely downstage compared to CECT. Upstaging is reported in 10–15% of patients, whereas about 5% of patients are downstaged with PET/CT [1]. Baseline PET/CT scans aid interpretation of subsequent...

PURPOSE: The primary aim was to compare the diagnostic performance of PET/MRI (performed with basic anatomical MRI sequences) in detecting sites of disease in adult patients with lymphoma compared with the current standard of care, PET/CT. Secondary aims were to assess the additional value of diffusion-weighted imaging to PET/MRI in disease detection and to evaluate the relationship between the standardized uptake value on PET/MR and the apparent diffusion coefficient on diffusion-weighted imagi...

Methods 42 patients (median age 60.2 years, range 36.8-80.2; 19 males) with anal SCC, who received CRT with pretreatment 18F-FDG PET/CT were retrospectively reviewed. CTTA was performed on the largest tumour diameter CT image using TexRAD software. CTTA used a filtration-histogram technique, extracting fine, medium and coarse texture features, followed by quantification of histogram parameters. SUVmax, metabolic tumour volume(MTV) and total lesion glycolysis(TLG) were measured using Metavol soft...

PET/CT and contrast-enhanced CT have been considered the standard imaging modalities in the diagnosis of upper abdominal malignancies. PET/CT can be challenging in soft tissue delineation, especially in the upper abdomen. The recent development of PET/MRI for clinical use has shown promising results, with MRI providing superior soft tissue contrast and PET providing biochemical and metabolic information. Combined PET/MRI may allow simultaneous benefit in the assessment of patients in a single se...

Aim To compare prostate volumes and distances between anatomical landmarks on MRI images obtained with a phased-array coil (PAC) only and with a PAC and an endorectal coil (ERC). Materials and methods Informed consent was waived for this Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act-compliant study. Fifty-nine men underwent PAC-MRI and ERC-MRI at 1.5 ( n = 3) or 3 T ( n = 56). On MRI images, two radiologists independently measured prostate volume and distances between the anterior rectal w...

AbstractAn 18-year-old man presented with 6 weeks’ history of diplopia, early morning headaches, and blurred vision; on ophthalmologic examination, Parinaud syndrome was revealed. Brain MRI scan showed a calcified pineal mass. Brain simultaneous PET/MRI with 18F-choline showed an avid enhancing mass
