Multifunctional electrospun scaffolds were prepared from two polylactide (PLA) grades having slightly different d-lactide content (4.2 wt % and 2.0 wt %). Abstract Polyhexamethylenebiguanide hydrochloride (PHMB), a low molecular weight polymer related to chlorohexidine (CHX), is a well-known antibacterial agent. Scaffolds constituted by electrospun microfibers of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and poly(butylene succinate) (PBS) were studied.
