In Malaysia, Heart Failure (HF) is one of the commonest reasons for hospitalization, with a quarter of HF patients readmitted within 30 days from the onset of acute HF. Reducing frequent hospitalization from HF would significantly reduce the burden on the health care system and resources. The opportunity exists to create digital health system to provide continuous patient care after the diagnosis of HF and subsequent discharge from inpatient care to reduce hospital readmission. This paper report...

Introduction: Leucocyte telomere length (LTL) has been described as a marker of biological age, endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis. The association between LTL and clinical characteristics of Asian patients, and their outcomes following acute myocardial infarction (AMI) have been inconclusive. Objective: To investigate the relationship between LTL and developing AMI, the association of LTL with inpatient and 30-day mortality, and the comparison to LTL with established AMI risk scores in...

Background: NT-proBNP is a useful biomarker in the management of heart failure. However, there is conflicting evidence for the prognostic value of NT-ProBNP in acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Objectives: (1) To explore the association between NT-proBNP and 1-year cardiac related mortality in AMI patients. (2) To explore the association between NT-proBNP and 1-year risk of sudden cardiac death or ventricular arrhythmia, readmission for heart failure, readmission for acute coronary syndrome (AC...

: ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in situs inversus dextrocardia is a rare combination and poses many challenges in terms of diagnosis and management. These include the early detection of dextrocardia as well as the interpretation of the ECG. In addition, percutaneous coronary intervention could be challenging in the setting of dextrocardia because of diffi culty in cannulating the coronary arteries, selection of catheters, catheter manipulation, image acquisition and interpretation.
