This paper focuses on driving forces of knowledge sharing behaviors within organizations. Applying public goods theory of economics, it argues that knowledge sharing is a special type of public goods contribution. Accordingly, personal interest prohibits knowledge sharing while personal efficacy promotes knowledge sharing.
