Three new β-triketone flavanone hybrids, cajuputones A-C were obtained from Melaleuca cajuputi (the Australian 'tea tree'). Abstract Leumelaleucols A-L (1-12), twelve new 5-methoxy-4-methyl-benzyl phloroglucinol-terpenoid hybrids were isolated from the fruits of Melaleuca leucadendron L. The structures were elucidated by analyses of spectral data, and the absolute configurations were determined by the circular dichroism (CD) exciton chirality method. The neuroprotective effects of the isolated compounds were assessed.
