Results: Retinal detachment (51 cases, 47%) was the most common surgery which used PFCL intraoperatively. Other causes were vitreous hemorrhage (24 cases, 22%), posteriorly dislocated lens (22 cases, 21%), and trauma (11 cases, 10%). Intraocular PFCL was found in a total of 9 (8.3%) eyes. PFCL bubbles remained in anterior chamber and vitreous cavity were observed in 4 cases and subretinal retained PFCL was observed in 5 cases. Three of 5 cases of subretinal PFCL exhibited in subfoveal space. Amo...

AbstractPurpose: To evaluate morphologic differences in isolated inferior medial orbital wall fractures (OWF) based on computed tomography scans. Methods: This was a retrospective observational case study of 22 patients with an isolated inferior OWF and 32 patients with an isolated medial fracture between January 2008 and August 2010. We analyzed patient demographics and bony radiologic characteristics on CT scans, including the length and height of the lamina papyracea, the number of ethmoid air...

Purpose: To identify the correlation between final visual outcome after at least 6 months of follow-up and the extent of macular ischemia on the first visit. Methods: We performed a retrospective clinical analysis of macular ischemia using clinical records, fundus examinations, and fluorescein angiographies in 83 patients (86 eyes) diagnosed with retinal vein occlusion from January 1998 to July 2012 and followed up for over 6 months. We evaluated the extent and the location of macular ischemia, ...

We describe a patient with Churg-Strauss syndrome who developed unilateral anterior ischemic optic neuropathy. A 54-year-old man with a history of bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis presented with sudden decreased visual acuity in his right eye that had begun 2 weeks previously. The visual acuity of his right eye was 20 / 50. Ophthalmoscopic examination revealed a diffusely swollen right optic disc and splinter hemorrhages at its margin. Goldmann perimetry showed central scotomas...
