The self-assembly behavior of chemoenzymatic high molecular weight (ca. 30 000 Da) poly-L-phenylalanine (ePLP) and the nano-morphologies thereof are investigated. This work demonstrates that a biodegradable chitosan-based biocomposite packed in mini-reactors successfully removes copper ions from aqueous solutions. The chitosan is obtained by deacetylation of biological chitin, which is extracted from shrimp wastes by lactic acid fermentation. Abstract The extraction of the endocrine disrupting compounds (EDC) di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), 4-nonylphenol (4-NP) and bisphenol A (BPA) from infant formula using supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO 2 ) was successfully achieved. These compounds are regarded as the most frequent EDCs in food. Abstract The semiconducting and non-toxic enzymatic polygallic acid (PGAL) produces water dispersible poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT-PGAL) and polyaniline (PANI-PGAL).
