The first part of this work evaluates the influence of the cure conditions on the preparation of 3-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane (APS) and the corrosion inhibitor 5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol (AMT) multilayered films onto AISI 1020 carbon steel. Abstract Density (ρ), speed of sound (w), dynamic viscosity (η), and the electrical conductivity (κ) of the protic ionic liquid (PIL) diethylammonium acetate ([DEA][Ac]), in binary mixtures with water, were measured in order to evaluate how these thermophysical properties are affected by the variation of temperature along a wide composition range. Abstract Boehmite and silica conversion coatings were produced by sol-gel dip coating and heat-treated at different temperatures to improve the anticorrosive performance of alumina film deposited on AISI 1020 carbon steel substrate.
