Abstract null null Electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2RR) toward value-added fuels has attracted increasing attention in carbon-neutral and energy-production fields, but the catalytic efficiency is seriously hindered by the robust linear scaling relations between adsorption energies of intermediates. Herein, we have extensively investigated the effect of a series of group ⅣB, ⅤB, and ⅥB transition metal (TM) atoms substitution for middle Mo in Mo3C2 MXene on the catalytic per...

Abstract null null The efficient capture of radioactive iodine (I-129, I-131) and radon (Rn-222) is crucial to the development of nuclear energy in spent fuel treatment. Herein, we successfully synthesized a new type of three-dimensional hydrolyzed collagen aerogel immobilized with catechin (Catechin@3DCF aerogel) as an effective adsorbent to remove iodine and radon through enzymatic hydrolysis, dialysis, freeze-drying, immobilization, and cross-linking. The as-prepared adsorbent was systematica...

Thermophilic biological nitrogen removal will provide low-cost strategies for the treatment of high-temperature nitrogenous wastewater (greater than 45 ℃). In this study, a thermophilic denitrifying granular sludge system was established at 50 ℃ and compared with mesophilic systems (30 ℃ and 40 ℃). The results showed a significant increase in COD and nitrate removal rate with the elevating temperature. Besides, the microbial community analysis indicated an obvious succession of key functional ba...

Abstract null null Extraction uranium from complicated aqueous solutions (seawater and nuclear wastewater) has been promoting the development of multi-functional adsorbents with high adsorption capacities and high selectivity. Here, we proposed a co-immobilization approach to preparing uranium adsorbents. Due to specific recognition and binding between functional groups, bayberry tannin (BT) and hydrous titanium oxide (HTO) were co-immobilized onto nano collagen fibrils (NCFs). The adsorption pe...

Abstract A novel tubular EKG material in electroosmotic field test combined with a vacuum preloading method was first conducted in a reclamation project in Ningbo, China, by using a vertical-layere...
Abstract null null Limnologists and governments have long had an interest in whether nitrogen (N) and/or phosphorous (P) limit algal productivity in lakes. However, the types and importance of anthropogenic and biogeochemical processes of N and P differ with lake trophic status. Here, a global lake dataset (annual average data from 831 lakes) demonstrates that total nitrogen (TN): total phosphorous (TP) ratios declined significantly as lakes become more eutrophic. From oligotrophic to hypereutro...

Abstract null null Conventional autotrophic nitrification process is difficult to treat high-temperature wastewater with high-strength ammonia. In this study, a high-temperature (50°C) biofilm system based on heterotrophic nitrification and aerobic denitrification (HNAD) was established. The results showed that the HNAD process was high temperature resistant, and the nitrogen removal performance, pathway and microbial mechanism varied remarkably at different temperatures. The high-temperature sy...

Soil anisotropic strength and strain behavior under principal stress rotation, caused by traffic loading, have been widely studied, while anisotropic permeability is of little concern. Large settlement will be induced by consolidation or secondary consolidation of soft clay, particularly for reclaimed clay. Permeability behavior is thus very important. Since current experimental setups do not take into account the influence of dynamic loading on the permeability of soil, hollow cylinder apparatu...

Abstract null null Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) collects a host of time-series sensor data and is committed to fully automated systems for glucose control as an essential part. Outlier data in CGM measurements caused by faults may seriously affect the computation of insulin infusion rates and endanger the safety of patients. In this paper, a semi-supervised outlier detection method is proposed for anomaly detection of glucose concentration measurements based on a density-based clustering ...
