The effects of different concentrations of copper on collagen content and alkaline phosphatase (AKP) activity from chondrocytes in newborn piglets were measured. Serum concentrations of sodium, potassium, magnesium, and iron were measured in dairy cows with subclinical ketosis. Compared with healthy cows, the subclinically ketotic cows had significantly higher levels of non-esterified fatty acids and β-hydroxybutirate in serum and significantly lower levels of blood glucose (p < 0.01). No significant differences were observed, suggesting that the mineral elements measured are not involved in the pathogenesis of subclinical ketosis.

Abstract High-affinity anti-abrin-a monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies were used to develop a sandwich immunochromatographic assay and silver enhancement technology was used to further increase the sensitivity.
