Abstract null null Inspired by an electromagnetic hydropower station that contains a reverse polarized magnet, we proposed a new design methodology of electret rotatory energy harvester (e-REH) with bipolar-charged electrets for boosting its output performance. A selectively localized corona discharging method is invented to have both positive and negative ultra-high-resolution charges implanted into a single electret thin film. A generalized theoretical model of bipolar-charged e-REHs with free...

This paper presents a novel ultraviolet photon counting system based on a SiC SPAD array. The detector is made of 4H-SiC with a fairly low dark current in pA level and the array size is 1×128. In order to reduce the influence of dark count on image quality, this paper proposes an adaptive sampling readout circuit system, which can automatically adjust the SPAD hold-off time according to the photon density of the applications. Aiming at the nonuniform breakdown voltage of SPADs in a linear array,...

Stretchable and transparent electrodes (STEs) are indispensable components in numerous emerging applications such as optoelectrical devices and wearable devices used in health monitoring, human-machine interaction, and artificial intelligence. However, STEs have limitations in conductivity, robustness, and transmittance owing to the exposure of the substrate and fatigue deformation of nanomaterials under strain. In this study, an STE consisting of conductive materials embedded in in situ self-cr...

Here stretchable, self-healable, and transparent gas sensors based on salt-infiltrated hydrogels for high-performance NO2 sensing in both anaerobic environment and air at room temperature, are reported. The salt-infiltrated hydrogel displays high sensitivity to NO2 (119.9%/ppm), short response and recovery time (29.8 and 41.0 s, respectively), good linearity, low theoretical limit of detection (LOD) of 86 ppt, high selectivity, stability, and conductivity. A new gas sensing mechanism based on re...

Earth geomagnetic field provides very important information for autonomous navigation. However, in practice, magnetometer measurements are easily distorted by outer disturbances, as shown in the right diagram. In a recent study, the real-time magnetometer disturbance estimation problem has been solved via a constrained nonlinear programming for better underwater navigation accuracy. However, the employed interior-point optimizer will require considerable computational resources and cannot always...

A bright white light emitting material based on CdSe QDs were prepared by a facile post-synthetic treatment of passvating the QDs by hyperbranched polyethyleneimine (PEI) in water. The CdSe@PEI aqueous solution emits white light with CIE coordinates (0.334, 0.347) and with a PLQY of (17.7 ± 0.1)%.

Abstract null null A one-step, facile hydrothermal approach was developed to synthesize gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) modified reduced graphene oxide hydrogel (Au-RGOH) with three-dimensional (3D) porous microstructures for sensitive NO2 and NH3 monitoring. It was found that the Au-RGOH displayed an order of magnitude higher sensitivity and much lower limit of detections (LODs) than the unmodified RGOH counterpart, demonstrating the remarkable role of Au NPs in boosting the responsivity toward NO2...
