Abstract Acoustic emission (AE) and digital image correlation were used to monitor mode I fracture in center notch and smooth boundary specimens. Abstract A laboratory study of inelastic deformation and localization was conducted to evaluate microseismicity and fracture in fluid-saturated rock. A true triaxial apparatus was designed and fabricated to achieve multi-axial stress states with prismatic specimens.
